How to stop procrastinating! 1.1.18


How to stop procrastinating today, because my friend, you got shft to do✔✔✔

So as I sit her today to write a blog, I realize it’s been well over a month since I wrote one? 

How is that possible I ask myself? 

I wish I could tell you I’ve been travelling the globe and having a fabulous time.  Or, that I took on a big project which took up all my time! 

Only, that would be “no” on both. 

Sure, there was Christmas shopping, decorating the house and all that good stuff.  And of course, my daily social media schedule, which takes up a huge chunk of time on a daily basis.  

But, I didn’t exactly get that much done last month when it comes to my website/blogging. 

I thought about it often.  I came up with several new ideas in fact. 

Only problem was, I didn’t actually write them. 

Tomorrow I kept telling myself.  Only, tomorrow turned into tomorrow and so on and so on.


Sure, I worked on some new projects, (to be announced soon),  had a couple of new clients. 

Only, I still could have had time to write at least one blog a week. 

But I didn’t. 

I kept putting it off.

That’s the thing about procrastination, we come up with a hundred reasons to rationalize it. 

Reasons such as; no time, I’ll do it tomorrow, next week, next month, it’s not that important, I’ll get to it later, and so on.

We tell ourselves it’s not that big a deal. 

Maybe it’s a phone call you keep putting off? 

A letter to write.

Or an e-mail you need to send. 

Maybe you keep putting off going to the gym? 

You wouldn’t be alone on that one, I believe that is the biggest subject that people procrastinate on. 

And let’s be honest here, no one HAS the time to go to the gym, you MAKE the time to go to the gym! 


A few years back, as I walked into the gym on a hot Summer night,

looking like I wanted to be anywhere but at the gym,

the guy at the front desk looks at me and says,

“Patti, you have to change your attitude about going to the gym,

it’s not something you have to do everyday, it’s WHAT you do everyday! 

It’s part of your life!”

And I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve gotten off that train too. 

Too busy for the gym because I’m working (let’s face it, I’m always working, but I can set aside an hour out of my day go to the gym), too busy for the gym because I have to (fill in the blank, wash the dishes, do laundry, go to Target, I’m too tired, it’s too hot out, it’s too cold out, you get the idea).

Well, no more procrastinating for me!

I went to the gym this afternoon.  Check. 

Wrote a blog.  Check. 

And there’s going to be a lot more checking this year. 

Lots of blogs to be written. 

Lots of projects to get off the ground this year. 

Lots of work to do, and the gym thing, my goal is going five times a week, minimum. 

Starts now!
