“How good manners matter!” (12.19.19)

Never has there been a moment in your life, Patricia Bokowski, that wasn’t also a moment in mine.
Never have you laughed without me, cried alone, or loved in vain.
And never have you dreamed a dream, that destiny had not ordained.

Please.

And thank you!

Two of the best things.

You can ever say to anybody!

Want people to love you?

Start saying please and thank you 👈👈👈

Like, make it part of your everyday life👉👉👉

Personally, from the time my boys.

Were very young.

I always impressed upon them.

How good manners matter.

Mattered greatly in life.

Sure, being smart is awesome!

Getting a good education as well.👈👈👈

But, being smart.

And having a good education.

Only NOT having good manners.

Trust me.

You won’t get far.

Seriously!

So I have BIG news to share!

I recently opened a shop on Amazon.

As many of my clients are still reluctant to go out shopping.

I decided to bring my favorite fashion finds to everyone.

Take a look: https://www.amazon.com/shop/ninefrogs

Full disclosure, I make a commission.

New items added daily.

Thank you for shopping with NineFrogs!

But.

Having good manners.

Plus a good education.

And being SMART. NineFrogs Daily:

Now that’s a winning combination!

As for my boys and me.

We might curse like sailors.

But we are polite AF in public!

And, that’s what you want!

I mean really?

How hard is it to say thank you?👈👈👈

Or please?

And hold a door open for someone?

I’m telling you.

It’s the little things.

That make a huge difference in life.

There are two bad habits.

That I have on my ‘I absolutely can’t stand.” list.

They include:

Gum chewing.

And.

Smoking.

A big yuck to both of them!

But let’s get back.

To please and thank you.

In case you didn’t know.

Many interviewers check for good manners.✔✔✔

They want to see how well.

You will get along.

With your prospective fellow workers.👈👈👈

You may be smart as a whip.

But have absolutely no manners.

I mean really.

Who wants to work with some rude jerk?

No one🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️

Years ago I heard a story.

A business owner was interviewing.

For a high-level position in his company.

He was meeting a prospective candidate.

At the diner to interview him.

As they sat at the table.

The waitress came over to take their order.

The man who was doing.

The interviewing wasn’t happy already.

He couldn’t help but notice.

How rude the other man was being to the waitress.

This continued throughout their meal.

And the man (interviewer) said nothing.

When breakfast was over they walked outside.

The man who was being interviewed.

Asked the man what he thought

About his chances were of getting the position?

The man paused for a few seconds and said:

‘I’m sorry, but after the way I saw you treat that waitress.

I don’t see how I could have you working with my people or me!”

I’d bet that man never got it.

Say please and thank TO EVERYONE👈👈👈

“Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others.

If you have that awareness,

you have good manners, no matter what fork you use.” / Emily Post

I know most people.

Don’t think of it that way,.

But it really does show respect.

Like, would you show up.

To a friends wedding reception in a t-shirt and jeans?

Likely your answer is no.

You would be dressed in something nice.

Dressed to celebrate the occasion❤❤❤

Well, it’s the same thing.

When people don’t dress appropriately for the occasion.

Namely: LIFE!

And trust me when I tell you.

People will treat you.

In direct proportion to how you dress.

As I have talked about before in my blogs.

I am a real people watcher.

Like whenever I go to my local 7-11.

Or Dollar Tree.

I am in shock.

The way some people dress 🙄🙄🙄

And here’s something I want you to know.

People will complain.

That they don’t receive good customer service!

I hate to say it.

But when you show up looking like sh*t.

And not saying please or thank you.

Plus being a rude d*ck.

You probably won’t get what you want.

But.

When you present yourself in the right light.

You are pretty much guaranteed RESPECT!

So, the moral of the story is.

Don’t be THAT person👈👈👈

And say please and thank you!

Things you can do to improve your good manners are:

Make eye contact with whoever you are speaking with.

Shake hands with a sturdy handshake👋👋👋

Be on-time✔✔✔

Don’t check your cell phone every three seconds.

So, so rude!!!😠😠😠

And of course.

You know I have to say it, smile 😉

Seriously.

It is not that hard to have good manners.

So.

Why are good manners important?

In your social/business life?

Because they are a clear reflection of you.

And the impression you leave on others👈👈👈

Now, think about that?

What kind of impression are you leaving on others?

Are people happy to see you?

Or, are they happy when you leave?

And, by the way.

You can always tell!

I was just commenting.

On a post today on LinkedIn on this very subject.

Making a great first impression encompasses many attributes!

And most definitely.

Having excellent good manners is one of them!

Because.

Nobody wants to deal with people who have none!👈👈👈

Say PLEASE AND THANK YOU!
