“If it’s your job to eat a frog for breakfast,
it’s best to do it first thing in the morning.
And, if it’s your job to eat two frogs,
it’s best to eat the biggest one first.” – Mark Twain
We’ve all been there.
You have “that” phone call or “that” e-mail you have to send and you dread it.
Maybe you have a meeting with someone you don’t want to meet?
So what do you do?
Eventually you are going to HAVE to do “the thing”…
So, you keep putting it off.
To that magical place called “tomorrow”.
I’ll get to it tomorrow, next week, next month, hell, if I can, maybe not till next year.
Yet, it’s always in the back of your head,
Because, eventually, you STILL NEED TO DO IT.
Trust me, I’ve been there.
Postponing phone calls, emails, writing letters I didn’t want to write.
But, I always find, once I do the “unthinkable”, I always feel so much better.
I recently wrote a letter that I have been postponing for years. And finally got the nerve to write it.
At the post office, I actually said to myself, are you really doing this (answer was yes), and I did it. Best thing I’ve done for myself in ages!
So, take some advice from Mark Twain, eat the BIGGEST frog first thing in the morning, and if you have two frogs, eat the biggest one first!
Have you heard that one before?
Someone told it to me recently.
Makes total sense though doesn’t it.
We all tend to procrastinate when it comes to doing the thing(s) we know we have to do, only don’t want to do.
So, now you know.
Eat a frog first thing tomorrow morning🐸🐸🐸
And then see how much better your day goes from there.
