“The man on top of the mountain didn’t fall there.”
Some days, it is hard for me to imagine my journey from where I started to where I am now.
Literally starting with nothing, and making it into this big NineFrogs something.
As a result of all my hard work; more people are reading my blogs, my fan base is growing, I’m receiving more Influencer opportunities, and I couldn’t be happier.
That’s the thing about entrepreneurship, it is a never ending journey of successes and failures.
You know that Chinese Proverb: “Fall down seven times, stand up eight”.❤❤❤
Let me say this; the one thing you are continually doing is LEARNING.
And if you’re not learning, you are definitely doing something wrong.
For me, I recentlylearned I was doing something wrong with my blogs, so I literally spent the WHOLE Summer going back and editing ALL of my blogs.
Talk about a lot of work, and LEARNING that lesson.😢😢😢
Because learning is key to you and your business’s growth.
I feel like I have learned more in these past seven years, than I have in my whole life!
I am constantly learning.🧐🧐🧐
Among other things, I go on LinkedIn every day (several times a day) and read the articles that appeal to me.
Networking is another great tool to learn and meet people.😎😎😎
Also, I am currently in the middle of re-reading The Magic of Thinking Big.
So, if you haven’t read it, I highly recommend you do, it is full of so much insight, not just for business, but for life!
“If you tired, learn to rest, not quit!‘
As an entrepreneur it is easy to fall into “burnout”. And that is because there are so many things you want to do.
And quite frankly, it can be overwhelming.
So you need to learn, that when that feeling comes, to go for a walk, jump in your car and go for a long drive (what I’m doing tomorrow), meet a friend for lunch (preferably a friend who is sympathetic to your cause).
You get the idea.🙄🙄🙄
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and your business won’t be built in a day either.
Burnout is a real thing, trust me. I’ve been through it few times before I learned the signs to look out for, don’t let it happen to you.
The thing about having your own business, you are your own boss.👀👀👀
Which, depending on how you look at it, is either a great thing, or, it can be a bad thing.
You need motivation to do all those thousand things you need to do to have a business.
And the only one who is going to make you do it is YOU.😥😥😥
That’s why entrepreneurs are a funny lot, we don’t mind working Saturday nights to get something done, and not get paid a penny.

There is a certain beach I go to because it is the only beach that I can get a signal, because I want to be able to work from the beach.
Because, above all, my business means more to me than having fun.

Rule #1 – BELIEVE IN YOU!
Now, anyone who reads my blogs, knows I am a big fan of Kermit the Frog, and have been for years🐸🐸🐸
I have written many blogs about Kermit’s words of wisdom, his encouragement, his humor and his inspirational quotes🐸🐸🐸
I believe when Jim Henson created Kermit, he was really creating a frog version of himself; thoughtful, creative, kind and funny 😉
Let me share a message from Kermit:
“Your spirit is what keeps you going
your attitude is how you show it to the world.”🕊🕊🕊

As a business owner, some days you can feel like you are being pulled in a hundred different directions.
And on some of those days you may question if you really have what it takes.
Here’s a quote that I love to read whenever I am overwhelmed with that feeling:
“Believe, really believe, you can move mountains, and you can.
Not many people believe that they can move mountains.
So, as a result, not many do!”
David J. Schwartz / The Magic of Thinking Big
It’s easy to get caught up in the daily “must do’s” of having a business.
Similarly, those very things will be the “things” that way you down.
It’s a constant balancing act, doing what what you really need to do vs. what you “think” you need to do.
Too many of those “things” on your daily to-do list, and you will start to feel the weight of all those things bearing down on you.
Learn sooner rather than later, to give up the shit that weighs you down🦾🦾🦾
Be wary of people offering you the moon!
I have found as a business owner, people try to “lure” you into all kinds of “deals”.
I believe we call these people “scammers.”
If I could count how many people have told me over the years that they were going to do some “great” thing for me.
Like the guy who said he was going to get me on Fox News.
Another guy who called me and said he wanted to be my new PR guy, and that he would get me published in all the top publications.
